When a hotel and its occupants are seized by a Japanese terrorist group, Lelouch orchestrates a rescue and proclaims the formation of the Black Knights. The Black Knights go after a cartel that makes a popular and dangerous drug, a battle that is especially personal for Kallen.

Lelouch and his Knights trail Cornelia and her army to the Front's headquarters, where Kallen uses her new Knightmare Frame to bring on a landslide. When the Black Knights take Narita, Euphemia orders Suzaku to rescue Cornelia, which leaves Lelouch cornered in the middle of a three-way battle.

Zero and his inner circle meet with a key player in the Japanese underground. In Tokyo, Shirley Fenette tells Zero of a significant casualty of war. Villetta urges Shirley to secretly follow Lelouch's movements; Lelouch successfully blows up a freighter, then faces his own possible demise.

Lelouch follows Shirley to Narita, where a wounded Villetta is discovered, and the force behind Shirley's attack on Lelouch is unveiled. Villetta awakens with partial amnesia; when C. Milly meets with her prospective husband; when Mao kidnaps Nunnally, Lelouch and Suzaku join forces to save her, and C. An art museum is opened in memory of Clovis; Lelouch recruits a new Black Knight just in time for a battle with Lancelot that produces a shock.

Ohgi, Villetta, Euphemia, and Kallen hide their identities at the school festival, but when Euphemia's is revealed, she makes a fateful proclamation.

A discussion of Japan's future goes haywire when Lelouch loses control of his powers and he sets Euphemia on a course toward an unthinkable massacre. Euphemia tries to fight off the Geass as she struggles to survive; Zero announces his plan for the creation of a new nation, and a revolution begins. Ashford Academy becomes headquarters for the Black Knights, as Suzaku defies them. Villetta's memory returns and Lelouch faces off with Cornelia.

Lelouch learns what Cornelia truly knows of his mother's murder; Lelouch goes to Kamine Island to save Nunnally and has a final showdown with Suzaku.

Lelouch Lamperouge returns to his usual life of being a lazy student and gambler, while his memory has been erased and filled with false records.
